Rouel Road London

Rouel Road, London

London Borough of Southwark

The London Borough of Southwark was formed in 1965 from the former area of the Metropolitan Borough of Southwark.
Southwark has the greatest proportion of social housing in England, with a mixed diversity culture.

Design and contract administration of the £2.6million Rouel Road contract by Southwark Council to replace the original pipework, installed originally circa 1977.

The new network connects community buildings and over 800 homes and includes the most accurate leak detection system on the market, which can pinpoint a problem in the pipework to between one and three metres, and will benefit the community of Southwark for years to come.

“Dilapidated and outdated pipework affects housing across London and it’s important that we embrace new technology and install new piping of a high standard in order to prevent disruption for residents in years to come, especially over the winter months. Ensuring that work happens this summer to make homes warm and dry is one of the council’s key priorities and this work will go a long way towards our targets.

This scheme will help to achieve more affordable greener heating for Southwark residents; reducing fuel poverty and CO2 emissions while future proofing to ensure further expansion of the heat network. DMP actively involved the local community by raising awareness about the benefits of heat networks throughout the installation. “

Councillor Ian Wingfield, Cabinet Member for Housing

“I have experienced a strong and open relationship. This has been built on high quality designs, products and installations across all projects especially on the major installations”.
John Marenghi, London Borough of Southwark
